Tayside Ironmongery Ltd was the concept of our director Alex Sivewright, back in 2005.
He had gained a vast product knowledge with over 30 years in the ironmongery business, ultimately managing the popular Fyfe Douglas.
When the company was sold to a bigger conglomerate, he realised that the friendly customer service he was proud to have built up was eroding and it was time to go it alone. With the help of his brother he set up Tayside Ironmongery Ltd at our former premises on Court Street, Dundee.
Alex’s vision was to build a fully independent Ironmonger’s, with no ordering limitations and operating by his motto ‘if we don’t have it, we’ll get it!
Although our company was established in 2005, we bring over 30 years of extensive experience and expertise in the ironmongery business.

In 2017, after realising that the premises at Court Street was not working for us anymore, we made the bold decision to move to our current premises on Old Glamis Road.
Our new premises allows us to showcase many more of our products and is conveniently situated just off the Kingsway, making it easily accessible for our customers from all areas of Dundee and surrounding areas.
